The department of Physical Education was established during 1978 in order to streamline the sports and games activities and strengthen physical fitness of the students. The department offers one course of 0+1 credit to the B.Sc. (Ag) students. The department ensures that the students participate regularly in all the sports and games programmes organized at the University, State and National levels.
The college has been affiliated to the District Sports Association in the various games, and actively participates in the league matches conducted by the respective associations. The college team has entered the final rounds in the Inter Collegiate tournaments of KAU in various sports and games events and hold championship in many events. The players of this college have been selected to represent KAU teams for Inter University tournaments. Four students of the college donned the University jersey for the Inter- University Football match held at Annamali University. Three students of the College represented KAU team for the All India Agri University tournament and won Gold medals.

University receiving the National Award 'SILVERSTAR' from His Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, President of India on 11th July 2007 at Ashoka Hall Rastrapati Bhavan, New Delhi for the outstanding services rended to the community through the Scout Guide movement.
